Cost Allocation Tags

Labeling resources for tracking costs and chargebacks
The Cost Allocation menu item

For Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) environments, you can assign tags (name/value pairs) to storage and compute assets created through the ACM. That gives you more flexibility in tracking costs and in doing chargebacks. This menu item brings up the Cost Allocation Tags dialog:

The dialog is straightforward; the button creates a new tag, and the trash can icon deletes one.

The fourth tag in Figure 41 is a dynamic tag. Dynamic tags only apply to AWS environments, and they allow you to define templates whose values are evaluated at runtime. In the example here, $(label:clickhouse.altinity.com/chi)is the name of the current ClickHouse cluster. That sets the value of the example.com/role tag to be altinity-[clusterName].
